Yelp Review # 4 - Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop (American, Salads) in Costa Mesa, CA
It was beautiful Saturday afternoon in Orange County and my friend and I thought we should go get lunch before doing work...because who can actually do work on an empty stomach. We planned on doing work inside the OC Mix so we thought we should just get lunch nearby. We saw Greenleaf and thought maybe we should actually make good on our New Year's resolution and attempt to eat more healthy. So we decided to give Greenleaf a try.
Decor: (4 out of 5)
Like many places in Costa Mesa this spot was very hip. I'm a fan of the typical hipster kind of decor, this didn't knock my socks off but it passed the decor test.
Customer Service: (3 out of 5)
The cashier wasn't friendly but wasn't rude. He spoke so quiet that I had to have him text me what he was trying to say because I could not hear him.
Menu: (3 out of 5)
The menu was quite overwhelming. There were a solid amount of choices and each choice had a long paragraph description describing the dish. Many of the dishes had unrecognizable ingredients, so I just picked the two things that seemed delicious from their title.
Food: (5 out of 5)
Antioxidant Salad ($12.25)
This dish was just straight up silly! It went sooooo hard!!!.....yelp family!!! I was drooling for more salad!!!!!! I never thought I would see the day. This salad was from another dimension, a dimension where salads are delicious!!! This salad had me on my knees begging for more....this salad is the kind of salad that I would bring home to mom. This salad is the kind of salad that had me shopping at Jared asking if they had a ring that would fit the diameter of my delicious salad!!
Pesto Chicken Panini ($10.50)
This sandwich was grilled to perfection...a nice subtle crunch of the bread, hot delicious chicken, creamy avocado spread, with a pesto sauce that would melt even the Grinch's heart. This dish was something that was meant for the soul. Slap me and call me Nancy I would order this again.
Overall I want to come back for their brunch and endless mimosas. If it is anything like their salad and sandwiches I am in for a complete treat.
